A frame straight out of Bishops. This is a Fleet Special Track, around a 50's we believe. Can't find too much other information other than the pinstriping was done by local legend Dick King of the now gone, Kings Cycles on Barbadoes Street, Christchurch, New Zealand.
Hi, Jack King (Barry of Kings Cycles brother) did all the striping for us and this bike. Jack had been enamelling and striping bikes since he was a young fella.
ReplyDeleteFor $30 he,d do a four colour stripe and feather job on our frame and forks.
He was a mine of information on the old Christchurch cycle trade and freely talked about it for hours.
A good friend and sadly missed when he passed away. A lot of knowledge went with him.
Luckily many examples of his work are still around ChCh.
